Congratulations to Paradigm Health Registered Nurse, Meredith Briles, who recently completed the nationally accredited Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN®) program and examination. The program was designed for experienced hospice and palliative registered nurses. One way for hospice and palliative care professionals to recognize their expertise is through certification. This involves a process that validates and evaluates one’s experience in a specialty area.
“Gaining the CHPN distinction has been a goal of mine for a long time,” shares Briles. “The program gave me an additional opportunity to learn and grow in in my profession and that ultimately translates to better care for my patients.”
Briles says the certification isn’t just a one-time statement of accomplishment, but an ongoing effort that will continue to benefit not only her patients but the Paradigm Health team as well. With the addition of the certification, Briles will bring added insight and education to Paradigm Health’s holistic team approach to palliative and hospice care.
“I knew it was the right time to begin the certification process,” said Briles. “Jeff (Jarecki) has been especially encouraging. His support energized me to work toward this accomplishment and personal goal. When the CEO asks if you are ready for this next step— you say yes!”
The Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association was established in 1986 and is the national professional organization that represents the specialty of palliative nursing, which includes hospice and palliative nurses.
